Through engaging and creative events, we provide space to connect with other Londoners, be inspired by out-of-the-box thinking, and take a fresh approach to social issues.

We get serious about today’s problems in a seriously fun way, so expect drinks, food, and plenty of play.

This year's Beer Here will be an exploration of the complexities of a country that seems increasingly divided by politics, wealth inequality and resource division.

This Year's Beer Here:

London is a city of innovation and opportunity as well as of deprivation and poverty, but the UK as a whole is Greater [than] London.

This year's Beer Here will be an exploration of the complexities of a country that seems increasingly divided by politics, wealth inequality and resource division.

And we'll be celebrating what makes the rest of the UK great with:

  • Regional food and drink offerings (mulled wine! 🍷)
  • A series of fast-paced talks style to get you thinking
  • Interactive art installations and live music

So join us on a chill November evening at Grow and let's burst the London bubble for a while.

Christmas Unwrapped - 13/12/16

We asked: what is it like to be homeless in London at Christmas in 2016? We heard how we can help rough sleepers from Street Link, bought art made from residents at North London YMCA through Homely and enjoyed the delicious cooking of Pot Luck

VICES - 28/01/16

BEING BAD FOR SOCIAL GOOD.

At this Beer Here we experimented with what it meant to be bad for social good. From having a flutter on the roulette wheel where losing is better than winning, to the cocktails so organic you won't even feel the hangover, we played fast and loose with the rules about vice.

UNLOCKED - 28/01/16

AN ADVENTURE THROUGH AND BEYOND YOUR COMFORT ZONES.

Do they hold us back from confronting social issues? What change can we make when we dare ourselves to test their limits?

Guests had the opportunity to join an improv class, face their fears by printing them on a tote bag, sketch a stranger and compete in interactive games to win prizes from Alternative London, 2020 Archery and Oval House Theatre.

CONNECTED - 29/07/15

EXPLORING TRUST, JOY, EMPATHY, GENEROSITY AND OPENNESS.

The evening explored our capacity to connect through 5 immersive themes. We learnt how to trust; had a laugh at improv; stretched our empathy muscles in our Story Corps living room; shared our secrets; and opened up writing the Epitaph Rite.

BEER HERE PLAYS HAVOC - 21/05/2015

HERE'S TO DISRUPTING THE ROUTINE.
HERE'S TO DOING IT OVER A BEER.

Camden Collective saw a night of speakers and installations to inspire guests to disrupt their everyday routines, meet line-minded people and play a little havoc. We welcomed Olivia Comberti from The Before I Die Network, PSSST... The Speaker Company and John Paul Flintoff. Crazy For Pasta came to fill our bellies with tasty grub, and Two Fingers Brewing Co. stocked our bar.

GOLDEN LIST LAUNCH - 13/11/14

THE ULTIMATE DIRECTORY OF PEOPLE  LEADING CHANGE

In November 2014 Beer Here hosted the launch of The Golden List, the ultimate directory for those ambitious about social change. Find out more at yearhere.org/goldenlist

GANG STORIES - 10/07/14

LONDON'S GROWING GANG CULTURE

In the atmospheric St John at Hackney, Gang Stories was a compelling combination of first hand testimony and expert insight, casting light on London's gangs from all angles. Experts ranging from former gang members to leading journalists shared their experiences.

BEER HERE DOES...
SOCIAL CHANGE - 20/05/14

Beer Here sank its teeth into the meaty topic of social change. We dived into the four cornerstones of social enterprise: technology, money, power and design, to explore their potential to transform our world.
